Meet: DAREN GUAJARDO

Active Air Force Service member Daren Guajardo worked with MMI credit counselor Mark McBride through Soldier On's Credit Education Program to secure his first ever auto loan!

How has your situation improved since working with Soldier On and MMI?

In reviewing my credit score, Mark helped me to understand what I needed to do to obtain my first auto loan. Mark directed me to speak to a local Credit Union and dealerships after recently being denied by a few national creditable lenders. Before I met with Mark at MMI, I was very frustrated on how my credit score, history, and debt-to-income ratios did not qualify me for a loan.

When MMI reviewed my credit score in detail, an issue was identified with how a paid debt was reporting to one of the credit bureau agencies which was impacting my credit score. Getting this direct information in detail helped me secure an auto loan with a sales consultant at local dealership. I was so happy to be approved for my first ever auto loan.

I am excited to be driving to California at the end of the month to my new duty station and will have less stress in finding transportation. I'm forever grateful for the help I received from MMI and Soldier On through the credit education program, which is instrumental in educating our Military on financial matters.
