HOMES FOR VETERANS
PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
MEET THE NEW HOMEOWNERS:
Gwenelyn Gook
Thoughts about the Program:
As I sought out services to address my financial debt situation, there was an organization that wanted me to pay fees. This just did not make sense to me because I was the one asking for help in finding the right information needed to rebuild my credit. Then, thankfully, I found Soldier On's credit education program. Their counselors took the time needed, at no cost, to help me understand my options without any misleading information which has helped my credit score to increase.
SUCCESS STORY
Meet: GWENELYN GOOK
An aspiring homeowner from Houston, Texas, Gwen has been working on improving her credit with the help of Soldier On's credit education and financial literacy program.
As a veteran, I need to be held accountable. The MMI counseling team follows up routinely to make sure I stay on track. This has made me see a clearer path on my goal of owning my own home. It's not easy to understand most lenders and options when making a financial decision. Through my experience most entities do not have the patience to explain the different types of loans. Soldier On's credit education program is so important for other veterans to know about. This program educates veterans on how to manage a budget, get out of debt and reach their goal of homeownership. Most importantly they take the time to understand your financial situation, treat you with professionalism, and support you to make a realistic financial action plan.
What can you share with other veterans about your experience?
